Downton Abbey Season 4 Episode 7 Recap: 4 Craziest Developments

Downton Abbey just aired it’s 7th episode of the season and you know what that means: it’s time for a recap!

Here at Max Level Geek were are of the mind that the only thing better than enjoying your favorite show is geeking out over it with your fellow fans. So what do you say we get started, there’s lots of broken engagements to cover! Whoops,  SPOILERS ahead!

1. Did Bates kill Mr. Green?

Last episode ended, hinting that Bates possibly knew about Mr. Green’s assault on Anna. In this episode, Bates takes a day off and the next day we find out Mr. Green bit the dust. He presumably fell into oncoming traffic. When Anna tries to get an answer from Bates, he says he only does things deserving of doing (whatever that means). We don’t know for sure, but we always thought of Bates as a thug. So, yeah, he probably did it. Get your swag on boy!

2. No sooner are Jack and Rose engaged than Jack is calling it off

After Mary finds out about Rose and Jack’s affair she pays a visit to Jack in London. He reveals to Mary that he has already decided against the marriage as he loves Rose, wishes for her to be happy and doesn’t want to subject her to the ridicule she would receive for marrying a black man. Seems like the boat is always sinking on couples named Jack and Rose.

3. Tony has called off his engagement

Tony is finally going full-throttle commitment to Mary. To the point that he’s called off his engagement with that other dame. Seems Lady Mary has her pick of any suitor she pleases.

We’re still of the mind that Charles is the front runner, but Tony promises to never back down. Make up your damn mind Mary! Some of us can’t handle the not knowing.

4. Daisy closes the book on Alfred

Daisy has finally made her peace with Alfred and said her goodbyes in mature fashion. Daisy is all grown up. You go girl!

5. Lord Granthem is back

Let’s get this party started! The man of the house has returned.
